Great Basin Speech Therapy, LLC is owned by Azra Hussain, M.S. CCC-SLP, a nationally certified and state licensed Speech Language Pathologist. She has been a resident of Reno, NV since 2009 and is excited to be able to open a practice to give back to the Northern Nevada community she calls home.

 

Azra received her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a minor in Nutrition at University of Vermont, May 2006. She received her Master’s degree in Speech Language Pathology from University of Nevada Reno, May 2013.

 

Azra’s clinical experiences include: Providing services to individuals from infancy to age 80+ in varied work environments. After graduate school, she began her career in the Washoe County school district working with K-12 students. After a couple of years she pursued working with adults and geriatrics in an inpatient rehabilitation setting. Eventually, finding her passion working in a private practice setting providing services to children and adults. 

 

Azra is licensed by the board of Nevada and has her Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech Language Hearing Association. She is also recognized by the STAR Institute for SOS Approach to Feeding Program as a qualified feeding therapist for ages 6 months-young adult, and has been trained in the Kaufman Approach to Apraxia Therapy Techniques.

Azra spends her free time exploring the outdoor world, skiing, hiking, and biking the beautiful mountains we are lucky to call home.
